Jerry Harris: American actor charged with producing child sex images

American Television star Jerry Harris has been arrested and charged with producing child sex images.

He was arrested on Thursday morning and was brought before the court in Chicago.

A judge said that hearing of the case would take place on Monday to decide whether he will stay in custody or be released on bail.

Mr. Harris could be put into prison for 30 years if convicted on the federal child pornography charge.

The US attorney’s office said that Jerry Harris, 21, has allegedly enticed an underage boy to make sexually explicit videos and photos of himself.

Court records mentioned that the accused has admitted to receiving explicit images from the underage boy.

However, his spokesperson has denied the allegations.

The actor has appeared in the popular Netflix documentary series ‘Cheer’.

The star is accused of asking for images from the minor December 2018 to March 2020.

A criminal complaint mentioned that the victim informed the actor that he was 13 years old.

The charge comes as a lawsuit was filed against Harris earlier this week in which he was accused of child sexual exploitation and abuse of two alleged male victims.

A spokesperson told the international news source at the time that “we categorically dispute the claims” and “are confident that when the investigation is completed the true facts will be revealed”.

However, the court document mentioned that he has admitted during an interview with law enforcement officials to soliciting and receiving explicit images from one of the minors and “at least between 10 to 15 other individuals he knew were minors”.

Investigations are underway, according to the officials.
