Indian wrestler Ritika Phogat commits suicide

Indian wrestler Ritika Phogat ended her life by committing suicide after losing a wrestling match by a point.

According to Indian media reports, Ratika Phogat, cousin of renowned wrestlers Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari Phogat, lost in the final round of a wrestling tournament in Rajasthan.

According to Indian police, Ratika was staying at her uncle’s house, where she ended her life by hanging from a fan after the defeat.

It is reportedly said that Ratika lost by one point in the final of the wrestling competition.

Geeta Phogat confirmed the sudden death of her cousin in an Instagram post and said that it is a sad occasion for the whole family.

She also said that Ratika was a brave, fearless, promising and intelligent wrestler. They do not know why she took this step.

Geeta Phogat said that defeat is a part of life but extreme measures should not be taken under any circumstances.
