Hugh Jackman pays tribute to his father, who died tragically at the age of 84

Hugh Jackman has paid tribute to his late father Christopher, who died on Sunday.

As he announced his father’s untimely death on September 5 at the age of 84, the 52-year-old X-Men star paid tribute to him.

“My father died away quietly in the early hours of Father’s Day (AU).” And while I am filled with tremendous sadness, I am also filled with such gratitude and love,” Jackman wrote with a portrait of himself.

“In a word, my father was amazing. He put his family, his work, and his faith first in his life. He said, “I pray he is now at peace with God.”

Fans and celebrities alike expressed their condolences and offered prayers for Jackman. “I was happy to have met him,” his close friend Ryan Reynolds said beneath the post.

In a 2012 interview with 60 Minutes, Jackman discussed how his father raised him and his four siblings as a single parent while also working full-time as an accountant.
