Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vir Das & Sushmita Sen lose at the International Emmys 2021

The 49^th International Emmy Awards took place in New York on Monday, and among the exciting wins, came a loss to Indian actors Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Sushmita Sen and Vir Das who were nominated in different categories.

Nominated for Serious Men, Nawazuddin lost to David Tennant, a Scottish actor who won the Best Actor award for his brilliant performance in Des (UK). However, this wasn’t the only loss that India had to bear, Sushmita Sen’s series Aarya lost to Tehran for the Best Drama category. Comedian and actor Vir Das who was nominated for his Netflix special Vir Das: For India, was also beaten out in the Best Comedy category by the popular French show Call My Agent!
