On Mother’s Day, Queen Elizabeth honours Kate Middleton & Meghan Markle
On Mother's Day, March 27, British Queen Elizabeth II sent warm greetings...
The royal family gathered to honour Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh’s life and legacy on Tuesday morning.
Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince George, 8, joined the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for a rare public appearance, but Prince Louis, 3, remained at home. The foursome walked in together, their outfits coordinating in navy tones.
With her wide, feather-trimmed straw “Mayer” boater hat by Lock & Co Hatters ($1,018) and a black polka dot dress by Alessandra Rich with stunning button detail on the shoulder, the duchess looked quite “My Fair Lady.”
The structured hat and dropwaist-type belted dress were evocative of Princess Diana’s outfits from the 1980s and gave an exquisite contrast for Middleton, who often wears the same kind of coatdress for such occasions.
It also reminded me of the navy Alessandra Rich polka dot dress she wore to Prince Charles’ 70th birthday family portraits, as well as the dotted skirt she wore to Wimbledon in 2021.
She completed her ensemble with a pair of Diana’s Collingwood pearl drop earrings, as well as two old favourites: a tan Russell & Bromley purse and Gianvito Rossi pumps.
