Katie Salmon of Love Island has announced the birth of her daughter Thaiga Dean

Katie Salmon of Love Island has given birth to her first child, a daughter named Thaiga Dean (pronounced Tiger).

The reality star, who rose to fame during the show’s second season in 2016 as one half of the show’s first same sex couple with the late Sophie Gradon, took to Instagram on Sunday to announce the birth of her daughter with fiancé Harry.

She wrote in the captions of the touching photos that she had been caught up in her baby bubble but had decided to announce the news on Mother’s Day.

Katie wrote, ‘I’m officially a Mummy!!!!’ I took some time off in my baby bubble, but I figured today would be the best day to inform you all.

‘We welcomed our lovely baby girl into this wondrous world. Dean Thaiga ( pronounced Tiger ).

‘Thank you to my family and friends who have brought us gifts and been so supportive. Included is @chelseascupcakesxx and her amazing cake.

‘And my fiancée, who is simply my rock; you are my dream; thank you for giving me the world.’ We’ve got you for life!

‘I’m going back into my bubble now; I’ll be back soon, but for now, I’m just so happy to be with my little family and enjoy every second of this incredible blessing.’ Thank you, Universe, for the greatest gift there is. ‘My lovely baby daughter.’

Her famous friends rushed to the comments section to express their congratulations.

Olivia Bowen, another Love Island contestant, wrote, ‘Congratulations my gorgeous girl, I am SOOOO happy to see this.’

‘YOURE GOING TO BE THE BEST MUMMY EVER,’ said Gabby Allen.

Katie announced her pregnancy in January, captioning a sweet video showing a montage of their baby journey thus far, ‘Been Busy Creating Life.’ Then there was love, and then there was you! 6 months pregnant with our most precious blessing…

‘I’ve kept this a secret from close friends and family for a while, but my beautiful baby bump is becoming difficult to conceal.’ We already adore you, baby, and can’t wait to meet you…

‘I couldn’t do this journey with anyone but my best friend.’ 2022 is my favourite year of all because it is the year I marry my love and we start a family.’

A slew of other reality stars congratulated the star, led by Ex On The Beach’s Helen Briggs, who wrote: ‘Oh my god KATIE!!!! CONGRATULATIONS. I know how important this is to you!!’
