Prince Harry and Meghan Markle disregarded the Queen’s ‘dignified’ lesson and made a public relations blunder

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been accused of ignoring an important lesson from the Queen in order to speak with Oprah Winfrey about their royal lives.

The 95-year-old finds strength in silence, according to royal expert Daniela Elser, a virtue unknown to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

“And if there has ever been a time in royal history when the 95-year-old has put that philosophy into blistering effect, it has been over the last 365-days and change,” Ms Elser wrote.

Ms Elser continued Meghan and Harry’s “self-righteous repeated airing of family dirty laundry” has only dealt them a PR setback.

“Both Harry and Meghan told Oprah how much they admired Her Majesty, but they both appear to have missed a crucial lesson she could have taught them about not only the power, but also the dignity of silence.”

During an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, Meghan admitted to the ‘institution’ of mistreating her over racism, Meghan revealed that she experienced severe remarks about the skin of her unborn son Archie while she was still in the UK.

“They didn’t want him to be a prince . . . which would be different from protocol, and that he wasn’t going to receive security,” she told Oprah.

What’s more, she says, “we have in tandem the conversation of, ‘He won’t be given security. He’s not going to be given a title.’ And also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born.”
