Tom Parker, star of the film The Wanted, died sadly today after a courageous battle with brain cancer, according to his bereaved wife.

The 33-year-old leaves behind his two-year-old Aurelia and one-year-old Bodhi, as well as his 32-year-old wife Kelsey.

Kelsey told The Sun today: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm Tom passed away peacefully earlier today with all of his family by his side.

“Our hearts are broken.

“Tom was the centre of our world and we can’t imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence.

“We are truly thankful for the outpouring of love and support and ask that we all unite to ensure Tom’s light continues to shine for his beautiful children.

“Thank you to everyone who has supported in his care throughout. He fought until the very end.”

In 2020, the celebrity was diagnosed with a deadly brain tumour and given only 18 months to live.

Tom, however, defied the odds by undertaking multiple rounds of gruelling chemotherapy and 30 sessions of radiotherapy.

Tom recently revealed that he has written a sad book about his battle.

He told fans: “My book is not about dying: It’s a book about living. It’s a book about finding hope in whatever situation you’re dealt, and living your best life no matter what.”

In October 2020, Tom reported that he had stage 4 glioblastoma, which doctors described as “the worst case situation.”

The singer was getting treatment in Spain, which led him to cancel the start of the boyband’s UK tour.

However, he did attend on later nights, where he performed while seated on a throne.

Max George, Nathan Sykes, Siva Kaneswaran, and Jay McGuinness, his bandmates, greeted him on stage before each show.

Nathan, 28, told the crowd: “Give it up for Tom Parker” as the crowd erupted in rapturous applause.

Tom was then photographed backstage, on a blanket, sipping a beer.

The actress was treated at a cancer centre in Spain’s Costa Del Sol for £4,000 per week.

The singer hoped that the groundbreaking technique might help him live longer.

However, his condition appeared to be deteriorating after he was recently photographed in a wheelchair, indicating that the treatment had rendered him unable to stand.

On Instagram, Tom’s bandmate Max George posted a photo of him looking cool in a beanie hat flashing a peace sign while looking after his comrade.

He captioned the storey with “I mean…come on,” followed by a heart eye emoji, while playing Justin Timberlake’s SexyBack.

Tom revealed his diagnosis in October and stated that he hoped to be cancer-free by March.

In the devastating Channel 4 documentary Tom Parker: Inside My Head, he boldly spoke about his fear of dying.

Breaking down in tears on camera, he said: “Scared is an understatement. I was petrified. I couldn’t stop thinking about death, is the honest truth.”

Tom was afterwards seen crying into his hands while resting in his bed.

He added: “It’s so hard to think about the future, because I genuinely don’t know what it holds any more.”

Tom, from Bolton, began playing the guitar at the age of 16 and auditioned for The X Factor, but was unsuccessful.

He joined The Wanted in 2009, and the band went on to have ten UK Top 10 songs and three UK Top 10 albums.
