After many cautions regarding live-tweeting, Amber Heard’s close friend and supporter, British music journalist Eve Barlow, was escorted from the courtroom.
Heard’s friend Barlow has been barred from the courtroom by Johnny Depp’s attorneys after she reportedly had Deuters’ evidence excluded from the record based on accusations she observed social media posts regarding the current defamation action.
Deuters is the wife of Stephen Deuters, Depp’s longtime employee and partner, who was asked to testify against Amber Heard.
Depp’s attorneys replied to Deuters’ removal by getting Barlow permanently disqualified.
“Amber had her closest journalist buddy sit front and centre – with her legal team – at the trial, live-tweeting, texting, and publishing information,” a source told Page Six.
“Eve Barlow appears to believe she is a member of Amber’s legal team. Depp’s attorneys had had enough and excluded her from the courtroom.”
Judge Azcarate reportedly took issue with Barlow’s texting and tweeting, claiming, “She was tweeting live from my courtroom…” according to court recordings. “I know the deputies hauled her out because she was texting,” says the author.
“That is in violation of the court order.” During this trial, Ms. Barlow will not return to the courtroom.”
