Avatar 2’s producer released teaser trailer as well as release date for sequel.

On December 16, Avatar: The Way Of Water will be released in theatres.

At CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Academy Award-winning producer Jon Landau debuted a 3D teaser for the highly awaited Avatar sequel.

On December 16, the long-awaited sequel to James Cameron’s 2009 fantasy epic about the Na’vi people of Pandora, which is still the highest-grossing film of all time, will premiere.

Jake Sully, played by Sam Worthington, and Na’vi Neytiri, played by Zoe Saldana, will return in Avatar: The Way Of Water, and the narrative of their family will be told.

Sigourney Weaver reprises her role as Dr. Grace Augustine, while Stephen Lang reprises his role as Colonel Miles Quaritch in the sci-fi action adventure picture.

Kate Winslet, who starred alongside Cameron and Landau in Titanic, will join the cast in the sequel.

Avatar 2 will pick up more than a decade after the original film, charting the Sully family’s battles and tragedies in order to keep each other safe.

The 3D teaser trailer was shown for the first time on Wednesday at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, and will be shown in theatres on May 5.

Avatar will be re-released on September 23 by 20th Century Studios, ahead of the sequel’s release on December 16.
