Bella Hadid, the supermodel, used her Instagram account on Sunday to draw attention to Israeli brutality against Palestinians at the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Bella posted a video of an Israeli police officer abusing a small kid and a man, as well as a long statement detailing her outrage.
Here’s what she had to say:
“I strongly advise you to watch each and every one of these films. Whether it’s a 12-year-old youngster being smothered by an adult or a mother of six fleeing with her hands up after being shot by the military. An old guy with crutches is shoved to the ground, unable to fight back. For no apparent reason, a youngster and his father are being terrorised.
Could someone please tell me who of these individuals sparked this type of attack? You are the problem if you are attempting to come up with an excuse.
If you really want to silence me, just like the journalists and anyone else trying to educate people about Palestine, @instagram, I will continue to come forward with peace, showing factual information about how the IDF, Israeli government, and Settlers attack innocent Palestinians for no reason other than the fact that they are Palestinians.
All of this is a violation of human rights, and continuing to monitor us is the most egregious kind of bias and unjust censorship.
This isn’t something I’m making up. I really don’t want to have to post something like this. These aren’t professional actors. These are genuine Israeli troops (intended to protect) and real Palestinians, with lives, families, jobs, histories, and souls. They should cease murdering if you want me to stop stealing.
“The Palestinians,” is the most common reason I hear. “They asked for it,” I hear, “and they had a knife.” It was for this reason that the soldiers began to strike.”
Certainly not. These are tranquil folks, as you can see, who spend much of their time with their children, praying, or simply… living. Yes, fanatics may exist on both sides. (As it is everywhere else in the globe) But I will not sit here and watch my people’s names be slandered as if they are continually doing something wrong to deserve such treatment. Abuse that is completely unprovoked. They are in their own house, on their own property, where they have lived for hundreds of years. Especially now, as the holy month of Ramadan approaches.
This is completely unprovoked.”
