Doctor Strange actress Zara Phythian and her husband accuse of sex with 13-year-old girl
Zara Phythian, who plays Doctor Strange, and her husband Victor Marke have been accused of several sex offences, including having rape with a 13-year-old girl after grooming her.
The pair has been charged with 14 counts of sexual behaviour with the minor, who is now an adult.
The claims have been disputed by Ms Pythian, 36, and Mr Marke, 59.
The abuse happened between 2005 and 2008, when the woman was between the ages of 13 and 15, she told the police in an interview aired in Nottingham Crown Court.
She said she looked up to Ms Phythian, who at the time was a martial arts instructor in Nottinghamshire with her husband.
They weren’t married at the time.
“I knew it was wrong but I just didn’t know how to get out of the situation or say anything,” she was quoted as saying to the police by BBC News.
“I remember trying to copy Zara’s reaction at the time because I looked up to her and tried to be like her in every way.”
“He just said nobody would believe me if I told them anyway,” she told police.
“They always had a power over me.”
Mr Marke is also charged with four further counts, including indecently abusing a child in regard to another woman who was molested between 2002 and 2003 when she was 15 years old.
