Prince Harry reveals he is ‘trying’ to return UK for Queen’s Jubilee
Prince Harry has acknowledged that he is unsure whether he will return to the UK this summer for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Harry sat down with NBC TV host Hoda Kotb for a candid interview, which aired today on the American morning show Today.
He was asked if he planned to come to the UK with his wife Meghan and children Archie and Lilibet for the Jubilee celebrations in June.
But he said: “I don’t know yet. There are lots of things: security issues and everything else.
“So this is what I’m trying to do, trying to make it possible that, you know, I can get my kids to meet her.”
The latest disclosures follow the release of a sneak peek of the talk last night, in which Harry claimed he is ensuring the Queen has “the appropriate people around her” to “guard” her.
That was also evident in his interview this morning, in which he expressed his delight at being reunited with his grandma, but stressed that the United States was now his “home” – at least for the time being.
He told Hoda: “It was great, it was really nice to see her in some element of privacy, which was nice.
“I haven’t had a chance to go back to the UK for a couple a years apart from those times, once for my grandfather’s funeral and once for unveiling a statue of my mum.
“Being with her, it was great.
“It was just so nice to see her … She’s on great form. She’s always got a great sense of humor with me and I’m just making sure she’s protected and got the right people around her.”
