Queen Elizabeth II reigns over the United Kingdom and 14 other Commonwealth countries. Elizabeth was born in Mayfair, London, as the first child of the Duke and Duchess of York. Her father acceded to the throne in 1936 upon the abdication of his brother, King Edward VIII, making Elizabeth the heir presumptive.
As part of the ongoing 70-day image countdown to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebration weekend, the Royal family wowed fans by revealing an incredible flashback photo of Queen Elizabeth II with her Commonwealth Heads of State from 1964.
The Queen can be seen in the black and white picture standing with 18 heads of state who were in London for the Commonwealth Prime Ministers’ Conference in 1964.

The Royal family’s Instagram page reads The Queen is joined by the Commonwealth Heads of State for a dinner party at Buckingham Palace.
Her Majesty is Head of the Commonwealth, which has grown from 8 to 54 members in the last 70 years.
In 1964, Donald Campbell became the first man to break both the water and land speed records in the same year, reaching 403.1 mph on land in July and 276.33 mph on water in December.
