Review: Lifetime’s ‘Greed: A Seven Deadly Sins Story’
Greed: A Seven Deadly Sins Story is less about obtaining wealth and more about satisfying an inner void. In life, we all have our own aspirations and goals that we wish to achieve. However, if we are confronted with greed while pursuing these objectives, it would definitely destroy everything we hold dear.
Greed has the capacity to kill humanity’s spirit if left unchecked, spreading like cancer across civilisation. Our excessive spending habits have already wreaked devastation on the planet. Our society may come to an end if greed triumphs over compassion.
Zuri Maxwell (Monique Coleman), an interior decorator with it all, a fulfilling work, a loving family and friends, and a nice gentleman in her life, artist Stephon Gardner, is the focus of the story (Nathan Witte)
The movie seeks to destroy everything when Zuri meets Godfrey Anderson (Eric Benét), a stunning philanthropist and entrepreneur, and his enormously wealthy aunt Miss Viv (LisaRaye McCoy). Zuri believes they have everything she wants. While Godfrey romances her, she sacrifices the ideals and morality that should guide her in order to be a part of the moneyed world she so desperately wants to be a part of.
Overall, the film is enjoyable to see and will hold your attention throughout Zuri’s life. You’ll believe you’re watching ‘Mean Girls’ in the middle of the film when Zuri goes shopping and enjoys her life to the fullest, but she also has secrets.
The film was premiered on April 23 on Lifetime.
