Samantha wraps up dubbing for her mythological film Shaakuntalam with Gunasekhar

This year, Samantha will provide us with two entertainers. Her mythical movie Shaakuntalam has been dubbed since she finished shooting for Vignesh Shivan’s Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal with Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi.

The popular love story of princess Shakuntala and King Dushyanta by Kalidas is reimagined by Gunasekhar. The film’s production started in February 2021 and has been making waves since. The actress looked stunning in a white saree as princess Shakuntala in the first look. Fans are ecstatic to see Samantha play a mythological character for the first time.

Shaakuntalam also stars Dev Mohan as King Dushyanta and Allu Arjun’s daughter Allu Arha as Prince Bharata. Among others, Mohan Babu, Sachin Khedekar, Gautami, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, and Varshini Sounderajan will be seen in the Telugu drama. The film is produced by Neelima Guna and Dil Raju’s Gunaa Teamworks and Dil Raju Productions.

Samantha also has the new age thriller Yashoda, directed by Hari and Harish. The movie is now shooting. She also has a Hindi film opposite Varun Dhawan, Citadel, and a Hollywood movie with John Philips, Arrangements of Love.
