‘The only person I’ve abused in my life is myself,’ Johnny Depp says in court
In a Fairfax, Virginia court on Monday, Johnny Depp continued his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard.
Audio recordings of disagreements with Heard are being investigated by the Pirates of the Caribbean star.
The attorneys for Amber Heard questioned Johnny Depp whether she was the only one who had an issue with his drinking.
Depp said, “Sir, if anyone had a problem with my drinking at any moment in my life, it was myself.”
“I’ve only ever harmed one person in my life: myself.”
The letter occurred following Depp’s now-famous 2015 brawl with Heard in Australia, which resulted in Depp losing a finger.
Depp labelled Heard “a spiteful, wicked, and vengeful c—t” who had a “obsession with herself” and was “so thirsty for success and celebrity” in the same text read in court.
Depp is presently being cross-examined by Heard’s attorney, Ben Rottenborn, in his lawsuit against his ex-wife Heard for $50 million over a 2018 op-ed. He’s being interrogated regarding audio recordings of fights with Heard.
