Even before its debut, KGF: Chapter 2 has set the box office on fire, with tickets for this Yash directed gangster drama selling like hotcakes across the board. With a total of Rs 9.40 crore, the Hindi version of KGF: Chapter 2 has surpassed all expectations. KGF 2’s net advance booking total for its first day has now reached Rs 8 crore. The Prashanth Neel-directed film has sold 3.25 lakh tickets in 60 hours, and with four days till its premiere, the box office is projected to continue to grow by the day.
Surprisingly for a south-based film, Delhi takes the lead. In the National Capital, KGF 2 grossed Rs 1.65 crore, while Mumbai grossed Rs 1.17 crore. Pune, Bhubaneshwar, Kolkata, Jaipur, Surat, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, and Nagpur have all seen strong advance ticket sales.
Basically, the entire nation has been taken aback by the KGF 2 frenzy, with evidence indicating that the film is truly becoming a pan-Indian phenomenon. Whether it’s the East Indian circuit, such as Kolkata, or the Western belts, such as Mumbai, Gujarat, and Pune, or the Northern belts, such as Delhi, Punjab, and, of course, the Southern belts, KGF 2 is a force that has brought the entire country together for big screen enjoyment.
By taking against the likes of War, Thugs of Hindustan, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Sultan, Tiger Zinda Hai, and Sanju, the film is set to become one of the greatest advance bookings for a feature film in the Hindi belts. It will also go up against other blockbusters such as Avengers: Endgame, Spiderman: No Way Home, and Bahubali 2. The film would have collected anywhere between Rs 15 to 20 crore net in advance in the Hindi belts for the opening day by the end of Wednesday, and it will be spot bookings that will propel the film to new heights
. There is a lot of excitement among the audience to see Yash return as Rocky, and if it were a solo release, KGF would have a good chance of breaking the Hindi box office record by exceeding War (Rs 51 crore). However, because to the conflict with Jersey, the film will now suffer capacity challenges, as there is sufficient demand but only a limited number of screenings available to satisfy the audience.
The total capacity of the picture on opening day will determine its final tally, but at this stage, a day one gross of Rs 35 crore or more appears to be a cake walk for KGF 2. The final screen count and programme count will determine whether it reaches Rs 37 crore, Rs 40 crore, or who knows, Rs 45 crore. To easily reach the 40crore level, it will require around 13,000 to 14,000 shows every day.
