Wynonna Judd on life after losing her mother Naomi to suicide: ‘The sadness is so great.’

Wynonna Judd opened out about her life after her mother, Naomi Judd, committed herself on April 30th.

The singer wrote a lengthy and heartfelt statement on stopping the cycle of addiction and family turmoil for her granddaughter.

“Checking in,” she began her lengthy message. There is a lot going on in the globe right now. So, before I set down to write this, I thought to myself, ‘No… I’m at a loss for words.’ Then I heard my life coach question me, ‘What do you know?’ And I started crying.”

“HOW DO I KNOW? “I DO KNOW that the agony of losing Mom to suicide on April 30 is so enormous that I frequently feel like I’ll never be able to truly accept and succumb to the fact that she went the way she did,” she wrote. “This cannot be the conclusion of The Judds saga.”

Wynonna said, “I must continue to show up for myself first and do the personal healing work” in order to be a healthier grandma to her first-born grandchild Kaliyah.

“I realise it’s a basic steps programme, and those steps aren’t always easy to do,” she said. As a result, I’ve made a commitment to continue doing the ‘next right thing,’ and I’ve scheduled weekly appointments to ensure that I continue with the continuing work even on my good days.”

“I DO KNOW that I feel so helpless—especially right now,” she added. “I DO KNOW, as cheesy as it may seem, ‘Love Can Build A Bridge.’ I find myself singing the song Mom made for the fans to myself late at night here on the farm.”

“I truly DO know that I can’t do this mourning thing alone, and that it’s alright to ask for support.” I will battle for my faith, for my SELF, for my family, and I WILL continue to show up and sing.”

In her final email, she thanked everyone for their love and support during this difficult time, adding, “Let’s check in more often.”
