Adele fights back tears at Hyde Park in emotional comeback after axed Vegas residency
Adele, the global singing sensation, announced to fans that she has “never been happier” as she celebrated her 34th birthday with photos.
On Thursday, May 5, the Easy on Me singer posted two new photographs with her 49.8 million fans to commemorate her birthday.
With the release of her new album in November 2021, award success, and the shocking cancellation of her Las Vegas residency just days before it was set to debut in January 2022, the London-born artist has had a rollercoaster year. However, the singer appeared joyful in the new Instagram photos, which included a close-up of her smiling and another in which she stood in a short black dress with enormous puffed sleeves.
She included a sincere message in the caption, explaining how time heals. she wrote: “What a difference a year makes! If time keeps healing and smoothing out all the creases in my life like it does as the years fly by, then I can’t wait to be 60! I’ve never been happier! So many lessons, so many blessings to be grateful for. This is 34, and I love it here! Thank you for the birthday love as always x”.
The best-selling music singer, who rarely publishes on social media, has since garnered over two million likes on the post, with hundreds of followers anxious to wish her a happy birthday in the comments. After being spotted wearing a big diamond ring at the Brit Awards in February, the celebrity prompted rumours that she had gotten engaged to her partner, 40-year-old sports agent Rich Paul.
When the star appeared on The Graham Norton show a few days after the Brits, she was quizzed on the ring to which she replied: “If I was would I ever tell anyone if I was or wasn’t?”. She also spoke about wanting “more children” after her Las Vegas dates saying: “It takes me a while to recharge, and I would like to have more children – I only just feel like I’ve caught up with my sleep from nine years ago when I had my son”.
There have been no developments on Adele’s Las Vegas residency, which she cancelled in an emotional video, citing the pandemic as the cause for the show’s cancellation. However, during an interview with Graham Norton, she stated that it would “absolutely 100% happen this year.”
“We are now working our a**** off,” she said on the BBC show adding: “But I don’t want to announce a new set of dates until I know everything will definitely be ready. The sooner I can announce the better, but I just can’t in case we are not ready in time. It is absolutely 100% happening this year. It has to happen this year because I’ve got plans for next year. Imagine if I have to cancel because I am having a baby!”.
