
Avril Lavigne’s tour has been halted owing to the Covid-19 case
Avril Lavigne’s Canadian tour dates have been cancelled due to “a positive COVID case during the tour.”
The 37-year-old singer, who is currently on tour in support of her album Love Sux, went to Twitter on Sunday, just hours before she was set to perform in Laval.
“To my fans and friends in Laval, QC, Moncton, NB, and Halifax, NS,” she said, “we are truly sorry to inform you that we are postponing these events owing to a positive COVID case during the tour and subsequent exposures.”
The Sunday event at Place Bell in Laval has been rescheduled for May 7, and new dates for both the Moncton and Halifax shows will be announced soon, according to the statement.
Lavigne, widely known for her songs Complicated and I’m With You, stated that the decision to cancel the concerts was taken with everyone’s safety in mind.
