Rebekah Vardy wept twice today over a lawyer’s jibes, after the High Court erupted in amusement when she didn’t comprehend the joke’s punchline.

She’s suing Coleen Rooney after she was suspected of leaking stories to the press, and she’s had a long day on the stand in “The Scousetrap” trial.

To make matters worse, she was forced to inquire of a judge about Coleen’s lawyer’s joke during the hearing. Later, she was spotted grasping for tissues and burying her face in her hands.

Rebekah has been accused of lying throughout the day after denying setting up paparazzi to photograph WAGs during the 2018 World Cup.

As Becky faced accusations of lying, Coleen grinned and stabbed Wayne in the arm with a pencil.

After claiming she hadn’t referred to herself as the “unofficial leader of the WAGs,” Rebekah was chastised for her “selective amnesia.”

While Rebekah was “distracted” by Gemma Collins “faceplanting” on Dancing on Ice, her agent Caroline Watt acknowledged in texts that she had tipped off the press about Coleen’s 2019 automobile crash in Washington DC.

When Coleen’s lawyer David Sherborne inquired about Miss Watt’s phone being lost in the North Sea days after she was ordered to turn it over to the court, there was a little respite from the anxiety – for everyone else.

Lawyer asked her, “We know that Miss Watt’s phone is now in Davy Jones’ Locker, don’t we, Mrs Vardy?”

Rebekah, baffled, then replied, “I’m sorry, I don’t know who Davy Jones is.”

People in the room start laughing, judge explained it’s an idiom for the bottom of the sea.

Rebekah left witness box in tears following jabs from Mr Sherborne.

He had been grilling her over a fake status by Coleen about travelling to Mexico for a gender selection procedure, but confused the women’s names.

Rebekah said, “I didn’t go to Mexico.”

Mr Sherborne then sniped, “Is that your best point, Mrs Vardy?”

Judge Mrs Justice Steyn rapped Mr Sherborne, calling his jibes “unnecessary” and told him, “There’s not really enough time for those comments in any event.”

Rebekah began the day by maintaining she had no involvement in tipping off a paparazzi who was photographing WAGs on a night out in Russia.

Fern Hawkins, Harry Maguire’s fiancée, was among those who were offended by the photos shot during the competition in St Petersburg.

Annie Kilner, the wife of Manchester City and England player Kyle Walker, suggested they go out for a photo, Rebekah told the court today.

Rebekah appeared to be upset when he asked if she’d had any issues with the Football Association’s family liaison officer, Harpreet Robertson.

Mr Sherborne asked why she was “pulling a face”.

Rebekah replied, “Because it was Ms Robertson again.”

Rebekah said, “This is the first that I’ve heard of it.”
