Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 hit the box office with Rs. 9 crore a day
The horror comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, starring Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, and Tabu, and directed by Anees Bazmee, rang the cash registers with its spectacular box office success.
The film became Kartik Aaryan’s biggest opener and Bollywood’s biggest opener of 2022, beating out far larger films like Runway 34, Heropanti, and Bachchhan Paandey. The success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has provided much-needed relief to the Bollywood business, which had struggled since the start of Covid-19 in March 2020.
The film went into overdrive on Saturday and Sunday, with mass centres coming into action and posting solid occupancies, after a strong opening day of Rs. 13.5 crore nett. The second day increased by roughly 35%, while the third day increased by 25% to add Rs. 18 crore and Rs. 23.35 crore, respectively, for a weekend total of Rs. 54.85 crore nett. The film passed the Monday test with flying colours, collecting Rs. 10.75 crore nett on the fourth day, with mass centres matching or even exceeding first-day statistics.
Because of the weekday rates, the metros were a little lower. Tuesday has performed admirably, with numbers down less than 10% from Monday. Early projections from Tuesday show that day 5 would bring in Rs. 9.5–9.75 crore, bringing the five-day total to Rs. 75.1–75.35 crore. Over 47 lakh people attended the five-day theatre event. The picture is receiving significant family support, indicating that it will have a robust run for a few more weeks.
After Gangubai Kathiawadi and The Kashmir Files, the film will surpass the magnificent Rs. 100 crore nett milestone this weekend, making it the third Bollywood film to do so in 2022.
Kartik Aaryan has established himself as a trustworthy box office performer who not only carries a film but also draws large audiences to theatres. Freddy, Satyanarayan Ki Katha, Captain India, and Dhamaka are among his future features, all of which are set to hit theatres in the next years.
