Billie Eilish discusses her Tourette’s Syndrome: ‘Exhausting.’

Billie Eilish opened up about her Tourette’s condition, saying that while it is “exhausting,” she has come to terms with it.

The singer claimed in an interview with David Letterman for his Netflix series My Next Guest Needs No Introduction that she is insulted when people joke about her illness.

During the interview, the Lovely hitmaker moved her head and opened her lips, prompting Letterman to question whether she had seen a fly.

“No, I’m ticcing,” the 20-year-old singer said, prompting the presenter to apologise.

Eilish said that lighting had caused her tics, adding, “If you video me for long enough, you’ll notice a lot of tics.” I don’t mind. It’s strange, I haven’t talked about it at all.”

“I adore answering questions about it because it’s so fascinating.” And I’m completely perplexed by it. “I’m not sure,” she said.

“They’re quite exhausting for me,” the singer said. It’s not that I enjoy it, but I feel like it’s a part of me. It and I have become buddies. So now I’m rather certain about it.”

Eilish, who was diagnosed with the condition at the age of 11, also stated that she dislikes it when people believe she is trying to be humorous when she has a tic.

“The most typical reaction is laughter, as if I’m trying to be amusing.” “I’m usually really upset by that,” the singer stated.

Eilish also stated that there are other performers in the industry that suffer from Tourette syndrome, but she will not name them.

“What’s funny is that so many people have it that you’d never guess. I’m not going to name them because they don’t want to talk about it, but a couple artists came out and said, ‘I’ve really always had Tourette’s,’ and that was actually incredibly intriguing to me.”
