Camilla Cabello is urging people to stop hiding their mental health issues
Camilla Cabello says, when people bottle up their mental health issues, it saps their energy.
In a recent interview, Camilla Cabello spoke openly on the necessity of discussing mental health issues.
According to Rolling Stone, the Bam Bam singer’s new album Familia assisted her in recuperating from anxiety disorders, which has had a “domino effect” on her life.
“Having these conversations — especially in the Latin community — I feel like I want to talk about it more in Spanish and with that community too,” the 25-year-old singer stated. It’s so different, even talking about it with my family.”
“There are different degrees to which people struggle with mental health, but I think, whether it’s life-changing or life-saving, when you bottle that (expletive) up, and you pretend, it eats away at your health. It eats away at your energy,” she added.
The singer continued: “It is so detrimental and I fully believe that trauma and mental health is physical health. It’s a public health crisis (and) people not talking about it.”
“It leads to so much sickness in the world, so much violence in the world, so much mental illness in the world,” Camilla concluded.
The singer has previously spoken out about her mental health difficulties, telling People Magazine that she suffered from “crippling anxiety” prior to the epidemic.
“I was cripplingly anxious and in the worst mental health state ever,” Camilla told the outlet.
“And then I took a break at the beginning of the pandemic. I started doing therapy (and) trying to feel better.”
