Doja Cat has tonsil surgery and has cancelled festival performances 

Doja Cat is on the mend, but she will have to cancel all of her upcoming engagements. The 26-year-old singer announced on Twitter Thursday evening that she had surgery to remove an abscess from her left tonsil the previous day. Doja Cat detailed her tonsil infection in a series of blogs before to the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday.

She said, according to Page Six. “My whole throat is f***ed so i might have some bad news for yall coming soon.”

She added in a second post. After disclosing gory details of her treatment, the Kiss Me More singer maintained she was well, “I was taking f***in’ antibiotics but forgot that i was taking them and then i drank wine and was vaping all day long and then i started getting a nasty-ass growth on my tonsil so they had to do surgery on it today.”

Surprisingly, in answer to a fan’s query about whether she planned to keep smoking, the rapper stated that she was now trying to quit for good. “Im quitting the vape for a while and hopefully i dont crave it anymore after that,” Doja Cat said. Doja Cat, on the other hand, took to Twitter on Friday to announce that she would require another operation and would be unable to perform at her upcoming shows.

Meanwhile, according to Page Six, Doja Cat was nominated for 14 categories at the Sunday music awards gala in Las Vegas, where she donned a black Schiaparelli gown with a translucent beige breast wrap over Agent Provocateur gold metallic pasties.
