The season finale of ‘FBI’ has been cancelled due to the deadly school shooting in Uvalde, Texas on Tuesday.
According to a news outlet, the episode named “Prodigal Son” is timely since it depicts the squad averting a school massacre.
The official summary of the fourth-season finale, written by showrunner Rick Eid and directed by Alex Chapple, as obtained by ‘Deadline.’ reads, “As the team investigates a deadly robbery that garnered a cache of automatic weapons for the killers, they discover one of the perps is a classmate of Jubal’s son, who is reluctant to cooperate with the case.”
In its stead, CBS will broadcast a repeat of the season’s 12th episode, which originally aired in February. According to reports, the network is now just dropping the original ‘FBI,’ not ‘FBI: Most Wanted’ or ‘FBI: International,’ which both have season finales tonight.
‘FBI’ follows a team of special agents stationed in New York who use all of their skills, intellect, and technological knowledge to solve significant crimes and keep New York and the country safe.
Missy Peregrym, Zeeko Zaki, Jeremy Sisto, Alana De La Garza, John Boyd, and Katherine Renee Turner feature in the fast-paced drama. Peregrym, who plays Special Agent Maggie Bell in the series, took a leave of absence in April after revealing her pregnancy.
Earlier in the day, Hollywood actor Matthew McConaughey, who has lived in Uvalde for the last 12 years, posted a message of sympathy to the victims of the deadly shooting.
