Geetanjali Shree becomes the first Indian writer to win international prize

Geetanjali Shree has turned into the main Indian author to win the International Booker Prize.

Her original Tomb of Sand, a family adventure set in the shadow of the parcel of India, follows an 80-year-elderly person after the passing of her significant other.

Shree’s novel went up against five other shortlisted titles, by Mieko Kawakami, Bora Chung, Jon Fosse, Claudia Pineiro and previous champ Olga Tokarczuk.
