Jackson Wang of Got7 recalls his parents worrying that if he pursued music, he might be abducted

Jackson Wang, a former member of the famed Got7 band, recently revealed his parents’ amusing reaction before he made his music debut.

Wang confessed on the Kelly Clarkson Show on Wednesday, when he appeared as a guest, that his parents were not delighted to learn of his musical love, and that they had some strange assumptions in their heads.

“They were very against me; they were like, ‘You’re insane,'” he explained to the presenter.

Wang, interestingly, remembers passing a musical audition in Korea. His parents were not fans of the entertainment industry.

They attempted to terrify him by telling him, “They’re going to abduct you and throw you in a cave, and we’ll never see you again.” You’re going to go missing.”

It took Wang seven months to persuade his parents to let him “start a music career.”

Not only his parents, but also his principal, stated that this was the “worst choice I had ever made in my life.”
