After testing positive for COVID-19, Jon Batiste’s new show American Symphony at Carnegie Hall has been postponed.

Jon Batiste tested positive for COVID-19 two days after attending New York City’s Met Gala 2022.

The singer stated on Thursday that he and his staff had caught COVID-19 and that his next Carnegie Hall performance would be postponed.

The Grammy-winning musician, 35,’must unfortunately postpone this event, since he and members of his staff have tested positive for COVID-19,’ according to a statement from the venue, adding that the show will be rescheduled.

In a press release, the I Need You star thanked his fans for their support. “I thank all of my supporters for their love and understanding. See you all soon.”

Batiste had been keeping fans updated on the approaching show. He shared rehearsal videos of himself playing the keyboard and preparing for the big night on Instagram.

Meanwhile, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Batiste is preparing to make his acting debut in Warner Bros.’ upcoming production of Alice Walker’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name, The Color Purple.
