Jung Ho-yeon discusses her initial response to the popularity of Squid Game
Jung Ho-yeon, the star of Squid Game, recently revealed her initial response to the Korean super-hit drama ahead of its Netflix debut.
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actress claimed that after seeing the drama, she apologised to the show’s director, Hwang Dong-hyuk.
“I believed I had completely screwed up. “After watching Squid Game, my first reply to director Hwang was, “I am very sorry,” she told the site.
The 27-year-old, who played Kang Sae-byeok in the drama, stated that “the popularity of the survival drama left her stunned since she was attempting to prepare herself for the negative reactions from fans before its debut.”
Meanwhile, Jung discussed her worry while preparing for a Korean series, becoming tearful as she described how she dealt with it.
I’m reading a lot of screenplays and just getting started. “I simply want to try everything so I can have a better idea of what I enjoy and what I want to accomplish,” she stated.
“I simply have to keep going even if I make errors,” Jung remarked. Despite the fact that I am currently crying. I’m not sure why I sobbed, but all I have to do now is fight my fear and keep learning and trying.”
Notably, the actress was also nominated for a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor for her work in this drama.
