Minnie Driver, reflected on her brief romance with Matt Damon, calling it “lovely” before the actor announced his single status on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
In her new memoir, Managing Expectations: A Memoir in Essays, the Return To Me actress, 52, described her ascent to prominence over 25 years ago and her romance with her Good Will Hunting co-star Matt Damon.
Driver recounted the attention that surrounded her and Damon’s relationship when they first started dating after playing lovers in the 1997 film Good Will Hunting in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
She said, “That was just a sweet romance that was just a sweet love affair in the center of all of that stuff, but had a combustible ending, which then became the focus.”
Damon and Driver divorced in 1998, and the Oscar winner revealed the news on Oprah Winfrey in January of that year.
Her family ‘loved Matt,’ but they ‘could see that this young man was rocketing incredibly rapidly, and so was I,’ the Cinderella actress added.
