Becky Vardy left Harry Maguire’s fiancée Fern Hawkins seething following suggestions she set up photo of England’s Wags at World Cup, Russia.

Their  legal battle finally took off, lawyers for her libel competitor Coleen Rooney disclosed the fallout before the High Court.

Fern and other Wags went to restaurant in St Petersburg on day of England’s first-round match against Belgium in the summer of 2018, according to David Sherborne for Coleen.

Photographers greeted Becky, 40, Fern, and seven other Wags before the low-key dinner and lined them up for their own team portrait.

Becky and her agent Caroline Watt were behind the image all along, according to a series of explosive WhatsApp chats between them.

Harpreet Robertson said, “Fern later expressed her upset to me she had taken part.

“She said she was embarrassed, wasn’t prepared and had not expected to be put in that position by Mrs Vardy.”

Whole WhatsApp conversation between Becky and her agent lifted the lid on her key role while helping to set up the photo in June 2018.

Becky, wife of Jamie told Caroline over text, “We may have to walk to restaurant from hotel now…so might be a good pic of us walking down it’s about 10/15 mins away.”

Miss Watt replied: “Ok will let them know thanks.”

90 minutes later, Becky sent another message, “On the way down in the restaurant car… He’s doing two runs.”

Becky, “If he’s here he is hiding in bushes or behind trees lol.”

Miss Watt, “He was all set to walk and follow you down.”

Becky, “F*** I made everyone go outside for a pic and the pap was there…Looks like I tipped him off now…

“Girls have asked me to put it on insta so quick get them out…they want me to put it up before the pap puts his in! I’ve bought about 10 mins.”

Miss Watt, “Ok will do…10 mins won’t be long enough…I have called the office and told them but they won’t be out in 10 mins as he has to email them in and then they have to be put up onto the system…

“They said the only good pic he got was that group one on the steps and he is sending it in to be uploaded.”

Becky agrees to wait, but is then asked to identify all of the Wags in the photo, to which she responds, “Fern, Millie, Gemma, Annabel, Shannon, Megan, Annie.”

She later posted the photo to Instagram with the caption “Crew.”

Some Wags, including Lucia Loi, Marcus Rashford’s lover, Megan Davison, Jordan Pickford’s missus, and John Stones’ ex, Millie Savage, were enraged.

They wanted to maintain a low profile ahead of England’s crucial first match.

Source told, “No one could understand how the photographers knew where they were going to be eating that night.

“They didn’t know anything about the meal until the last minute and were horrified when they arrived to see the paps there.

“They had their suspicions then but couldn’t prove anything.”

The source added: “The girls are absolutely livid and feel let down.

“They hoped it was going to be a quiet night but someone in their own camp betrayed them – and now they know for sure it was Becky.”

The sensational messages directly contradict claims made in her lawsuit that she “had nothing to do with the photograph”.

Paul Lunt Collen’s lawyer said, “Mrs Vardy has since confirmed in her solicitors’ correspondence that this is and was false.”

Becky’s lawyers have said she has “nothing to hide”.

Mr Sherborne told the High Court that Rebekah “appears to acknowledge” that Ms Watt was the source of the leaked Coleen articles.

Ms Watt was scheduled to testify in the trial, but she was recently ruled “unfit” to do so, and she also withdrew her written testimony.

Mr Tomlinson said, “We simply don’t know what the true position is in relation to Ms Watt… She’s not communicating with anybody.”
