Lucasfilm and Disney+ published the teaser for the second season of the successful animated series Star Wars: The Bad Batch on the final day of Star Wars Celebration 2022. It follows the story of a group of “defective” Galactic Army clones on a quest to become more than obsolete as the Empire expands.

A short clip from the season premiere was shown during the panel, showing Omega and Tech on a beach, attempting to get their spacecraft to take flight but being thwarted by the appearance of crab-like monsters. The next season will begin with a brief time leap, and our heroes will all have new outfits to show for it—Omega, for example, will don a helmet, while Hunter will wear a stylish scarf.

The Batch has its job cut out for them in attempting to find a home in the cosmos, as the trailer demonstrates. They’ll be up against even more formidable foes, but they’ll have at least one new ally in Commander Cody, whom we’ll eventually know.

After last season’s end, we were left with a lot of unanswered issues, but thanks to Tech, Wrecker, Omega, Hunter, and Echo, we’re starting to get some answers. We’re particularly curious to speak with Kaminoan scientist Nala Se and learn more about their work at Mount Tantiss on the planet Wayland, which is bringing in an important location from the old Star Wars extended universe.

The Omega and the gang came across several familiar characters last season, including Fennec Shand, who we just saw in live-action on The Book of Boba Fett. I’m quite interested to see who else appears when the Clone Crew’s storylines begin to interact with the larger Star Wars universe.
