Spice Girls reunite as Mel B hug Victoria Beckham

Mel B gushed over Victoria Beckham’s “enormous kindness” as she cuddled her bandmate. Posh Spice, called Scary Spice during the band’s heyday, spoke to fans about her efforts to make day the she was awarded.

In the New Year Honors list of 2022, she was awarded an MBE for services to charitable causes and vulnerable women.

Mel, who dressed in a red gown made by Victoria of the Spice Girls, curtsied to the Duke of Cambridge as she collected her gong at the special occasion.

She showed the magnitude of the pair’s tight friendship in a moving Instagram post after the royal award, presenting a big congrats cake.

The dessert was iced with the text To Melanie MBE on top and topped with frosting and rainbow sparkles.

Victoria and Mel could also be seen cuddling at the table as the festivities continued.

Mel told fans, “My spice sister Vic, I can’t thank you enough for your enormous generosity.

“Not only did you dress me and my mum but you surprised me by actually being there to fit us…….it was just soooooooo special thanks to YOU and your fabulousness.

“Honestly what a perfect ending to a magical day you booked a lovely dinner together with both our families wowza 25 years of friendship and we still like each other haha I love you lots.”

Mel, the patron of Women’s Aid, claimed the honor was meant for the women killed by their boyfriends, not for herself.

It happened after she boldly told The Sun about her own abuse ordeal last year.

She said, “I went through a horrendous abusive marriage which nearly killed me.

“I got out of it and ever since I’ve tried to help other women — and men — who have been through or are going through abuse in whatever shape or form.

“I thought about all the women I’ve met over the past few years who have been through terrible situations, women who have died, women who are still suffering. This, for me, was all about them. It still is.”

Mel appeared outside the Palace with her mother Andrea, adding to the poignancy of the occasion.

Following the star’s marriage to Stephen Belafonte, who Mel alleged emotionally and physically assaulted her, the two parted out in 2008.

When questioned about her conversation with William, she said, “He commended me on all my work that I’ve been doing, and he goes, ‘I’m so sorry you went through such a horrible time.’

“He did say, ‘I can’t believe I’m giving you one of these – I’m delighted’, and I said, ‘Aw thank you’ and we had a giggle.”

“There’s so much stuff but I don’t want to say anything until it’s actually happening and I don’t want to jinx myself and I always blurt everything out first, so I’m keeping quiet this time – reveling in this moment.”
