As revealed during this year’s Star Wars Celebration, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords will be released for the Nintendo Switch on June 8th. The successor to the iconic KOTOR RPG is expected to have performance and resolution improvements, as well as post-launch DLC called Restored Content.
As you might expect, the Restored Stuff DLC includes the content that the game’s developers, Obsidian Entertainment and Aspyr Media, left off during their hurry to release the game in 2004. A fanmade version for KOTOR II is currently available on Steam that restores some of the missing material, although it’s unknown how comparable the official DLC will be when it arrives.
Right now, you can preorder KOTOR II for $15.00 on the Nintendo Store, or you can buy it as part of a $29.99 bundle that also contains the first KOTOR, which was released last year for the Switch. While Aspyr is presently working on a KOTOR remake that will be unique to the PlayStation 5, no release date has been set.
