Strictly Come Dancing the upcoming season will abandon most of the coronavirus measures that have plagued the show for the past two years, According to reports

Despite the pandemic, the BBC’s flagship entertainment show has been able to air over the past two years because to a number of emergency measures, including bubbling up celebrities and their professional partners and having limited studio crowds in attendance for weekly live shows.

According to The Mirror, now that the worst of the coronavirus outbreak appears to be behind them, producers want to return to business as usual this year, but they will continue to pre-record group numbers.

“While final plans are still being nailed down and kept fluid, Strictly bosses are planning to pre-record some of the pro dancer routines again this summer,” a show source told the newspaper.

“They are also hoping to have a full studio audience back watching the live show each week.”

The new series, which could include a reprise of the legendary Blackpool episode, is set to premiere in September on BBC One.
