The assault lawsuit against Bill Cosby has begun in California

A legal action alleging that the disgraced comedian sexually molested a young girl almost five decades ago was set to begin in California on Monday.

Judy Huth claims that in the mid-1970s, when she was approximately 15 years old, the guy known as “America’s Dad” attacked her at the Playboy Mansion.

Huth claims the alleged attack caused her “psychological injury and emotional agony.”

The complaint is the latest in a series of legal cases filed against the 84-year-old Cosby, who was once one of the most famous entertainers on American television.

Dozens of women have reported sexual abuse at his hands.

Huth’s complaint was filed in 2014, but it was put on hold while Cosby was facing aggravated sexual assault charges in Pennsylvania.

Cosby was convicted of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman 17 years ago, but was released from prison because the state’s top court concluded he was denied a fair trial.

His release from prison enraged many #MeToo activists since he had spent more than two years of his three-to-10-year sentence.

The trial begins with jury selection in Santa Monica, a suburb of Los Angeles.

The first round of arguments is scheduled for next week.
