The significance behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez’s newborn girl’s name is ‘Beautiful.’
After the heartbreaking loss of the baby’s twin brother, Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez announced the name of their newborn child.
On Saturday, the 28-year-old took to Instagram to post a pair of gorgeous photos of her sleeping child while announcing the name Bella Esmeralda.
Rodriguez’s 37.9 million followers flooded the comment area with sentiments of love for the baby girl as soon as the image went live on social media.
The couple called their daughter Bella Esmeralda after the epithet Isabella, which means “beautiful” in languages including Spanish, Italian, Latin, Portuguese, and Greek.
Given that the couple hails from Italy and Spain, it’s no wonder that their young princess’ name is inspired by their respective cultures.
In French, bella also means “beautiful.”
Furthermore, the parents decided to add Esmeralda to their baby’s name to make it more distinctive.
Esmeralda is not a common name right now, but it has been chosen by a few celebrities, such Eddie Murphy and Mark Ruffalo, for their children.
The phrase is derived from the Spanish word for “emerald.”
