TikTok has never been renowned for being a drama-free environment, but the controversy surrounding TikTok star Taylor Frankie Paul has taken things to new heights. Some have speculated that Taylor and her husband Tate are getting divorced due to drama on Reddit and TikTok, however Taylor’s own TikTok videos make it difficult to know which elements of this narrative are actually true.

Taylor appears to have announced that she and her husband Tate are getting divorced in an Instagram statement, “The last eight days have been the most pain I’ve ever felt in my life,” Taylor wrote. “Been grieving and mourning with family and friends the loss of my family not being together anymore. Tate and I are divorcing, however, I always love him deeply, however it’s what’s best for us. Long painful road ahead but I’m hopeful it goes up from here.”

Users flocked to Reddit after hearing about the divorce to speculate about what might have caused it. The most popular assumption on the internet was that Taylor had cheated on Tate, with many of Tate and Taylor’s mutual acquaintances siding with Tate in the separation. Taylor and Tate were already sleeping separately, according to Redditors, and their marriage had been effectively dead for some time.

She shows a video of her moving boxes in another and says her entire life is falling apart. Taylor seemed to be in relatively good shape in these films, but she suddenly threw a significant wrench in the narrative she’d built with a new video that seemed to imply that the news of her divorce was not as it seemed.

Taylor’s current video has a montage of photos of herself and Tate, as well as photographs of the two of them dancing together. “It’s on Reddit, it must be true. Excited to co-parent with my best friend,” the caption reads.

“Divorce is nothing to joke about, so as much as I don’t want them splitting I would hate for this to be a joke,” one person wrote in the comment section.
