Travis Scott gives his first public performance after Astroworld tragedy
Travis Scott performed for the first time since November 2021 in Miami on 7 May.
Travis Scott performed for the first time since the Astroworld scandal. On Saturday, the Goosebumps rapper played at E11even’s Miami Grand Prix, and fans were excited to see him perform again. For those who are unaware, ten people died and hundreds more were injured at Scott’s concert in November 2021 owing to poor crowd control.
The rapper was widely chastised for his handling of the issue, with many accusing him of neglecting individuals in danger while performing his music. Despite the throng urging Scott to stop his show and address the problem, Scott later claimed that he was ignorant that the crowd was in such desperate need of assistance. The rapper has apologised for his mistakes since the incident, and after being involved in several lawsuits, he launched his Project Heal initiative, which aims to “take much-needed action toward supporting real solutions that make all events the safest spaces they can possibly be,” according to Page Six.
Scott, on the other hand, had multiple private gigs before his show in Miami as he kept a low profile as the internet was cancelling the rapper. The rapper performed at a private Bootsy Bellows Coachella 2022 afterparty in April, after being taken off the headliner’s list for Coachella 2022. He also demonstrated his movements in front of guests like Leonardo Di Caprio and Serena Williams at a private party in Bel-Air.
In his most recent performance, the rapper lit up the stage by throwing a stack of cash into the crowd while brandishing a bottle of Don Julio 1942 tequila.
