In his continuing defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard, Johnny Depp returned to the witness stand on Wednesday. The trial has been ongoing since last month, with testimony from both the actors and numerous of their witnesses.

On Wednesday, Johnny said that after a disagreement with Amber while they were married, he cut the tip of a finger on his right hand. Even though he has previously stated that the experience was painful, the actor laughed as he recalled it in court.

Johnny is shown telling how he damaged his hand in a video from the trial that has been posted online, “As I told before, she threw a bottle of vodka at me and smashed it and cut my finger off, the tip of my finger, a good chunk. I miss it,”  The actor paused and chuckled, and a few others in the court joined in.

This isn’t the first time Johnny has made a joke during the trial regarding the event. When he originally described the circumstances that resulted to his injury three weeks ago, he jokingly referred to the amputated portion as ‘Little- Richard.’

“I can’t take responsibility for what I now call little Richard, my chopped finger,” he added, referring to how it was Amber, not him, who was at blame in the altercation.

Johnny Depp has sued Amber Heard for $50 million, alleging that she defamed him in a 2018 Washington Post story in which she claimed she was a victim of domestic abuse. Amber, according to Johnny, was the one who was abusive throughout their marriage. She countersued for $100 million, claiming that he tarnished her reputation by labelling her a liar. The trial has been going on since April and will end on May 27.
