Whoopi Goldberg outrageous over anti-abortion law; slams Supreme court "The View" mediator...
Whoopi Goldberg may have played a Catholic nun on screen, but she appears to be unfamiliar with the church’s principles.
According to a news source, the ‘Sister Act’ diva has been torn after she attacked an archbishop for refusing Nancy Pelosi communion.
After the Catholic archbishop of San Francisco, Salvatore Cordileone, stated that the House Speaker would be refused Holy Communion in his archdiocese due to her support for abortion rights, the actress backed Pelosi. Pelosi, according to the archbishop, should “refrain from referring to your Catholic faith in public and receiving Holy Communion”
Unless she abandons her long-standing support for abortion rights.
Goldberg opened her discussion on ‘The View’ by criticising the communion prohibition, “The abortion rights battle is starting to blur the lines between church and state. The archbishop of San Francisco is calling for Speaker Nancy Pelosi to be denied receiving communion because of her pro-choice stance. He’s one of the priests who also called president Biden to be denied sacrament.”
“This is not your job, dude!” the award-winning entertainer furiously exclaimed. “That is not, you can’t, that is not up to you to make that decision.” She added, “How dare you.”
Many Catholics, however, disagreed with Goldberg, reminding her that it is the archbishop’s duty, and she is unqualified to educate him on what is and is not his role.
One person mentioned, “Canon law is indeed the Bishop’s responsibility, not yours, Whoop. You played a nun; you weren’t on.”
Another said: “It is his job to make sure the church and congregation are in one accord! People like Whoopi can’t make it anymore so they have to get noticed somehow! How about cancelling the view!!” A third remarked, “uhhh no whoopi that is his job.”
Cordileone stated in his announcement of the ban on Friday that he sought to meet and speak with Pelosi multiple times in the months preceding up to his decision. Pelosi is “obstinately persisting in obvious grave sin,” according to canon law, and it is his job as archbishop to execute church discipline against her, he said.
