Britney Spears weds Sam Asghari in a private ceremony in Los Angeles

• Britney Spears dissolved her 13-year conservatorship on June 23, 2021.
• Close to 60 guests from her inner circle were reportedly in attendance.
• The ceremony was “fairly intimate,” People reports.

Britney Spears, 40, went a step closer today to marrying Sam Asghari, 28, in a Los Angeles ceremony, seven months after the conservatorship was dissolved, according to a spokeswoman for the actress who confirmed the news to The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday night.

As Asghari’s rep, “I am very ecstatic this day has come, and they are married. I know he wanted this for so long. He is so caring and supportive every step of the way. I am so grateful to have Sam in my life and can’t wait for the future they will build together.”

Spears’ fans should not be surprised by the announcement, since she has been teasing changes in recent months. Spears uploaded a photograph of a veil and a house visit from Versace, who, it turned out, produced an unique outfit for the occasion, on Instagram, which has become her principal way of engaging with her followers and distributing official messages. That happened after she and Asghari announced their engagement in September 2021. He proposed with a 4-carat round-cut diamond ring fashioned by Roman Malayev of Forever Diamonds NY.

Spears and Asghari are said to have met in 2016 while filming a music video for her song “Slumber Party.” Asghari discussed their early courtship in a recent GQ interview. “It was the humbleness that attracted me. She was very humble and she had a beautiful soul.”  She said on Instagram, “Every day he inspires me to be a better person and that makes me feel like the luckiest girl in the world!!”

This is her third marriage, and Asghari’s first. She was formerly married to Jason Alexander (their marriage was dissolved) and Kevin Federline, a former backup dancer with whom she had two boys, Sean Preston and Jayden James. Asghari, who has been in Black Monday, PBC, Dollface, and the forthcoming Hot Seat, runs his own fitness firm, Asghari Fitness, in addition to modelling and acting.
