- BTS visited the White House on Tuesday to discuss Asian inclusion and diversity.
- They expressed their sadness over the recent spike in anti-Asian hate crimes.
- The group is currently preparing for the release of their anthology album Proof.
BTS members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook spoke at the White House on Tuesday about anti-Asian hate crimes, Asian inclusion, and diversity.
During their appearance in the James S Brady Briefing Room before meeting US President Joe Biden, BTS expressed their sadness over the recent spike in hate crimes.
For their visit, the members dressed in similar black suits with ties to encourage ‘Asian inclusion and representation.’ BTS leader RM described his visit to the White House as a “great honour” to “discuss the important issues” such as anti-Asian hate crimes. “It’s not wrong to be different. Equality begins when we open up and embrace all of our differences,” Suga went on to say.

Jimin, a Korean singer, stated, “We were devastated by the recent surge of hate crimes, including Asian-American hate crimes. To put a stop to this and support the cause, we’d like to take this opportunity to voice ourselves once again.”
V said, “We hope today is one step forward to respecting and understanding each and every one as a valuable person.”
BTS went on to say at the White House that they had “endured expletives without justification” as a result of anti-Asian prejudice. They also claimed that they had been teased in the past because of their looks.

Jungkook feels surprised that music from South Korea is now reaching people around the world, breaking languages and cultural barriers. Since photos and videos from their trip to Washington appeared on the internet, BTS has been trending on Twitter.
BTS is currently preparing for the release of their anthology album Proof. Their hit old and new songs will be included on the forthcoming album. On June 10th, it will be launched.
