Chris Evans originally played Steve in Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), and then in Avengers: Endgame, he handed up the shield (2019). In a recent interview, the actor revealed which of his roles he’d like to reprise, and it’s not the MCU part he’s been playing for a decade.

According to the press, Chris Evans was open about which character he would prefer to reprise. While Marvel fans may assume it’s Captain America or Steve Rogers from the MCU, the actor revealed that he’d consider revisiting his role as Johnny Storm aka Human Torch from the Fantastic Four. “God, wouldn’t that be great?” Chris exclaimed as they discussed it.

Further, the Marvel star explained why reprising his role as the superhuman Johnny Storm was better for him than reprising his role as Steve Rogers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “I would love it. I would love it. That would actually be an easier sell to me than coming back as Cap. You know what I mean? Cap is so precious to me. I almost don’t wanna disrupt what a beautiful experience that was. But Johnny Storm, I feel like he didn’t really get his day. That was before Marvel really found its footing. So, I loved that role and, you know, who knows.

When it comes to Chris Evans’ portrayal of the Human Torch, aka Johnny Storm, the actor appeared in two Fantastic Four films: Fantastic Four (2005) and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007). (2007). Following Evans, Michael B. Jordan brought Johnny’s role to life on the big screen in the 2015 movie Fantastic Four.
