However, with filming on Madame Web reportedly due to begin next month in anticipation of a 2023 release, one actress is offering some insight into the film’s development. In a recent interview with Collider, Dakota Johnson discussed the Spider-Man spinoff Madame Web, which is presently in production. The actress previewed the film’s newest additions to the cast, stating that she will be reuniting with characters from her prior films for the SSU trip.
Dakota teased, “People from ‘Cha Cha [Real Smooth]’ and some from ‘Am I Okay?’ are coming on to Madame Web with me. It’s cool. It’s fun to be able to start creating a real team of people that make movies.” Dakota Johnson has received better reviews in the low-budget and independent film scenes over the last seven years, with roles ranging from Black Mass to A Bigger Splash, Bad Times at the El Royale, and The Peanut Butter Falcon, despite rising to prominence as the lead in the Fifty Shades of Grey film trilogy.

Given that the majority of Madame Web’s cast of characters is still unknown, Johnson’s tease of a reunion with people she worked with on Cha Cha Real Smooth and Am I Okay? is intriguing. Meanwhile, S.J. Clarkson (Jessica Jones, The Defenders) will helm Madame Web, which is based on a story by Morbius authors Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. As a result, all major jobs in the film’s production will be covered.
