Ed Sheeran will perform in honour of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s marriage at platinum jubilee ceremony
Ed Sheeran will be singing his romantic ballad Perfect to honour Queen Elizbeth and Prince Philip’s bond at the upcoming platinum jubilee event.
Queen Elizabeth’s platinum jubilee ceremony is slated to take place this week, and Ed Sheeran will be one of the performers. Sheeran is expected to play his famous love ballad Perfect in a unique portion of the Jubilee Pageant, where he will pay a poignant tribute to the Queen and her late husband, the Duke of Edinburgh’s marriage, according to reports.
According to The Independent, photographs of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip will be displayed on a huge screen on the stage throughout Ed’s performance. The singer’s performance will pay tribute to the royal couple’s 73-year marriage and the relationship they shared before the Duke of Edinburgh’s death in April of last year.
The ceremony will also include a Bollywood-inspired rendition of the Queen and the Duke’s wedding day, according to reports. According to The Independent, classic Bollywood tunes will be played with 250 Bollywood dancers who will parade down The Mall in a reenactment of their 1947 wedding ceremony.
The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee will be the first major milestone she will commemorate without Prince Philip. The celebration will take place over four days, with Queen Elizabeth and other members of the royal family appearing on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the Trooping the Colour ceremony. According to reports, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who are expected to attend the ceremony, will not be making an appearance on the balcony because they are no longer serving in the royal family.
