- London: British music singer Ed Sheeran was poised to close four days of historic countrywide celebrations
- It is supposed to be honouring Queen Elizabeth II’s historic Platinum Jubilee on Sunday.
As a long weekend of celebrations throughout the UK closes, the multi-award-winning singer-songwriter will perform at the conclusion of a day-long spectacle lauding the 96-year-old monarch’s record seven decades on the throne.
Sheeran is one of several “national treasures” set to sing a “special homage” to the queen against the backdrop of Buckingham Palace to commemorate a first for a British monarch.

The four-day celebration began on Thursday with the pomp and splendour of the Trooping the Colour military parade, followed by beacon-lighting rituals around the country.
