  • On Tuesday, renowned Indian actor Farhan Akhtar wrote a lengthy letter of thanks to the Ms Marvel staff, including Pakistani director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy for her “leadership.”
  • “The post is in gratitude of the creators, directors, and all those in front and behind the camera, who worked to make Ms Marvel what it is,” wrote Akhtar, whose role in Ms Marvel has yet to be disclosed.

The Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara actress went on to thank Obaid-Chinoy, stating, “It is in gratitude to Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy for her guidance during my days of working on it.”

He then went on to express his admiration for Marvel, writing: “It is in admiration of Marvel.” I’m honoured to be a part of their deliberate inclusion.”

“This event is a celebration of diversity, and it will undoubtedly provide joy and pride of self-identity to millions of young Indian girls and boys.”

“And last but not least, it is in celebration of the extremely brilliant Iman Vellani,” Akhtar concluded his message. Prepare to be immensely entertained and easily captivated by her. Thank you and best wishes, Ms Marvel team.”

He also revealed the show’s launch date: “The first episode of Ms Marvel will be released on Disney+ Hotstar tomorrow, June 8th.”
